Do mobile phones, x-rays and other radiation affect the function of an insulin pump?

Unfortunately, nowadays we cannot rule out the possibility that somehow mobile phones might affect the function of an insulin pump. In order to be quite sure, you should keep to a minimum distance of 10 cm. But that is just a precaution: most pumps are protected against the usual electromagnetic radiation. But it is different concerning x-ray-, MRT- and CT-devices: here, the level of radiation is so high that it is recommended to take off the pump. Military radar facilities do as well fall into this category. But you do not have to be afraid at the airport: neither the pressure differences on board nor the security systems at the airport affect the function of the insulin pump.
