Vitamins
|
| |
Vitamins are very important for each human being for two reasons. On the one hand,
they fulfil significant functions and on the other hand, the body is not capable of
producing them itself. Therefore, they have to be administered from the outside.
These functions often have a higher value for diabetics than they have for
metabolically healthy people.
Vitamin B1: It has its function in the unobstructed conversion of sugar into energy.
Vitamin B6: As well as vitamin B1 it fulfils its function in the unobstructed conversion
of sugar.
Vitamin B12: This vitamin is responsible for the regeneration of nerves and vessels.
Vitamin B2, biotin, niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid: They are all enzymes in
the metabolism of sugar and therefore, play an important role for diabetics.
Vitamin C, E and provitamin A: As antioxidants
they support the wellbeing
by
ligating free radicals which harm the body owing to environmental impacts.
Vitamin D is responsible for the stability of the bones and the metabolism of calcium,
whereas vitamin K benefits the blood clotting.
