Look in my eyes ...
|
| |
Many relatives of diabetics know the phenomenon to feel the fluctuations of the
bloodsugar
level of the partner, child or parent even before he or she measures it.
Here the eyes sometimes seem to play a major role.
But is this really possible? Can you see, for instance, too high values in the eyes of
your loved one?
Basically not. It is possible, though, to draw conclusions from the eyes. It is generally
known that hypoand
hyperglycaemia retard the reaction time. Likewise, slips of the
bloodsugar
level can lead to visual disturbances, mostly temporary shortsightedness.
A typical reaction of the vis-à-vis
here is to screw up his or her eyes. However, each
diabetic can surely say that his or her closest fellowmen
develop a sixth sense for the
changing of the bloodsugar
level.
