Tips on travels : Portugal

In Portugal there are only a few labels / indications of carbohydrates in foods. However, the chain of food stores named Lidl is quite progressive in this aspect. It tries to indicate as many items of food as possible. Considering this, one can manage with a letter scales and a few exchange tables.
A friend of mine corresponded with several doctors who had agreed to treat German tourists for a low fee. Since this fee is mostly quite low, most of the compulsory health insurance schemes refund this amount, after deducting 5 % of the administrative charges.
With a health insurance document for abroad you may "only" take advantage of the oftentimes exclusively Portuguese-speaking health care, which is characterized by long waiting periods.
In case you might have further questions just phone the following number (German-speaking) : (00351) for Portugal + (082) 315678 . When you're calling from Portugal, please omit the 0 before dialing the 82.
